Original Post Below:

Hey, everybody! Kendall coming to you here with my first post since I’ve become a married man! That’s right—Holly and I finally tied the knot on a beautiful, sunny day that set the perfect scene for the moment we had been anxiously anticipating for so long. Now that we’ve settled into our new home and are getting back into the swing of things, I thought it would be great to have a little contest.

My good buddy, Chad Madden (@chadmadden) at OneWay Arts, has just released a really awesome motion bundle on WorshipHouse that I’ve really been digging. (You can check it out here.) It’s a great motion pack that has a sweet bokeh style paired with some neat imagery. They will quickly become your new favorite go-to backgrounds. Chad has been gracious enough to share one of these motion bundles with us to give away to one lucky winner. 1. Dave Elledge says:

We use motions behind songs & countdowns mainly. We also use them as visual transitions between worship elements. We have also used them in building title packages for series.

  2. One of my favorite uses for motion is during the announcement loop, to catch everyones attention.
We would use the in the chorus section of some songs and in between transitions

  3. We mainly use motion backgrounds behind lyrics, but I like to use them for lower 3rds as well! :)

  4. Jimmy Akers says:

We have used motions backgrounds for worship, announcements and sermons. They change the game in the overall presentation. I also think when applied with purpose and taste that they can give a visual to focus on or subconsciously enhance the worship experience.

  5. As a background for band setup. Makes the room feel like it is moving, and has a nice vibe to it.

  6. jkriggs says:

My favorite way to use motions in our service is through Environmental Projection (EP). You can change the look and feel of the room very easily and quickly, and keep things fresh on stage.

  7. Nathan Morse says:

Many use it for backgrounds during the worship service, but also to spruce up our announcements

  8. Dylan Hood says:

Motions play a very important role in our weekly services. We film our announcements on a green screen and use motions as our background visual. We also use them, of course, for our worship songs and scripture through out each service.

  9. TJ Wallace says:

I love using motion backgrounds in 2 of our most important services we have: Sunday morning worship, and Tuesday night SWITCH Student Ministries. These play a big role in our services. It sets a mood, and creates an awesome atmosphere that really plays a big part in the worship, in the message, and even at the altar. We also use them for video announcements, countdowns, and various announcements in our pre-service!

  10. Motion backgrounds. Yessir. Way better than PowerPoint. Ha. Preciate my buddy Ken!

  11. brittany says:

I am starting to venture into using motion backgrounds as an atmospheric element. We use our normal big projector for words, sermon, etc. And then we have started projecting motions onto the walls for an extra umph.

  12. Jay Reynolds says:

I work with middle school students, so our large group environment is heavily relying on Video elements. My favorite video segment is our welcome video – very high energy, well designed, and gets the room pumped up. It is quite amazing!

  13. Jeremy says:

We use motions for video announcements, worship lyrics and during the sermon in conjunction with sermon PowerPoint. Would love this resource!

  14. Damola says:

We use motion backgrounds for mostly anything that requires text- lyrics, announcements, scripture verses and (lately) sermon notes.

  15. Wanda says:

We use motions for announcments, worship, special songs, sermons, etc. for all our ministries: adult, youth and children. Love modern technology!

  16. Becky says:

Love using motion backgrounds for the songs during service. Think it is one creative way to help people engage. Looking forward to learning more about them and how we are creative as a team with them. Motion Backgrounds are great!

  17. Jeff Craver says:

We primarily use motion loops during worship as a background got lyrics. I will however, use them at other times to help set the mood. We are very specific with what motions we will utilize during a service. They must reflect the nature of the song and the attended mood of the moment. It is not about looking cool or exciting. It is about pointing our people to the thrown of God.

  18. Neal Prange says:

We have used motion backgrounds in the past with little success, but recently we have embraced the movement of motion backgrounds. I would love to add to the few we already have.

Got something to say? Go for it!
