ProPresenter is an incredible presentation software that can be seen everywhere from giant conferences like Catalyst all the way down to small youth ministries. While it was originally only available for Mac, Windows users are now able to use ProPresenter (version 4) on their machines, as well. The developers at Renewed Vision have done a terrific job of making this software tremendously powerful yet remarkably simple. Even greater things are expected to come as they plan on releasing their 5th version this winter. At our church in Baltimore, Maryland, we have found a home for ProPresenter in our sanctuary, youth ministry, kid’s ministry, and Celebrate Recovery meetings. (We use their site license to the fullest extent!) What has made it so useful for our team is that it’s easy to train volunteers how to use it, it can handle just about any media that you throw at it, and its presentation is always professional. However, there are two features that I’d like to share with you today that have transformed how we use the software. For those of you “Apple junkies” out there, you are sure to appreciate these tools specifically made for your iPad.
Wireless Remote
Having the ability to control ProPresenter wirelessly from anywhere on your wifi network is huge—simple as that. While this $4.99 app that’s available through iTunes is certainly not my preference to use over sitting in front of the actual software, it has saved me more than once. There have been cases where as an operator, I would have to run to the sound board or make a quick dash to the stage to fix something and I’ve been able to continue running ProPresenter without missing a beat. In instances where I’ve been teaching a Bible study or speaking to our church family, I have used the remote to control my presentation, launch movies, and even control our worship song tracks. This remote has made a way for our church’s ministers to have high quality presentations even when volunteers are few. Keep in mind that this app will also work on iPhone and iPod Touch. *Unfortunately, this feature is NOT available for the Windows version of the software.

Wireless Stage Display

If you’re unfamiliar with the “Stage Display” capabilities of ProPresenter, you have definitely been missing out. Built right into their 4th version of their hit software is the ability to create custom confidence monitors for your stage. These monitors allow you to display the current slide’s text, next slide’s text, clocks, timers, notes, and even alert messages. As soon as this feature was first available, our church purchased this recommended USB to DVI/VGA/HDMI Video Adapter so that we could display our song lyrics and sermon slides on the rear wall of our sanctuary with a projector. While this has worked without a hitch for us and been a lifesaver for our team, the guys at Renewed Vision have been able to take it one step further. Now available on iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch is the remarkable Stage Display app for only $9.99! All of the power of their customizable confidence monitors can now be wirelessly sent right to your device. What makes this capability even better is the ability to create multiple custom views of the display. That means that if your guitar player wants to see the lyrics and chords for the first verse, but your singers only want the lyrics—that’s fine! Maybe the pastor wants to see the current slide, next slide, and a clock. He can have a display that is custom made for him. The flexibility with this app is just amazing and you can have countless iPads in the mix. It gives you so much power in such a portable way. There are even stands that can hold your iPad when you’re using it!
