BIG NEWS! I’m really excited to announce that Holly and I will be moving this December to Greensboro, North Carolina to be a part of a new church called Piedmont Chapel. This is a big leap of faith for us as we pack up and head nearly seven hours south. I will be moving from a full-time ministry position in Baltimore to go work as a volunteer—at least for a short period of time. Of course, I will be serving as the Creative Pastor there and have huge plans for our days to come. This is a move that has been in the works for quite some time. I have been dreaming about this day with my best friend, Mitch Lunceford, since our college days. I’ve always had full confidence that he would one day become an incredible lead pastor. When he approached me with the news that the dream was finally coming to pass, I knew that this was an opportunity that I could not miss. Holly and I decided that we would not live in the land of “what if”. The fear of packing up and essentially starting over was great, but the fear of spending our lives wondering “what if we had followed God’s calling to Greensboro?” was so much greater.
Being able to build this church from the ground up has been such an incredible process. There’s nothing quite like honestly seeking God’s guidance for something that’s so much bigger than yourself. Holly and I knew that the only way that we would give our lives to something like this was if we were all in from the very start. Since the beginning of this process, we have sought God more than we ever have before. I’ve given more thought, creative energy, and downright hard work to this church than anything I’ve ever done. I’m happy to share with you that the results of our all in attitude are showing up every day. We have grown our Launch Team to nearly 30 people, are very close to finalizing a location for our services, and have just completed our new website so that we can begin telling our story to the world.
Please keep us in your prayers as we embark on this new journey. We are totally trusting God and leaning on His guidance through all of this. Our official Launch Day is September 7th, 2014, so there’s still a lot to be done. Check out our new website and be sure to follow us on social networks so that you can stay updated on our progress!
